I was about 7 or 8 yrs. old, standing in my parent's front yard, which was about a quarter of a mile from the Illinois statewide watching the contractors build new homes in our newly built subdivision. It was a sunny bright afternoon, when a sparkle in the sky caught my attention. As I stared at this sparkle, I saw 6 or 7 dime sized shapes of these objects, I noticed that they were in a formation of a triangle just silently still for 3 to five minutes. As I was about to run in the house to get my mother, these 6 or seven objects just broke formation and scattered in many different directions at an astonishing speed. I remember the quick zig zag route a couple of these objects disbursed, which only lasted a couple of seconds. I'm trying to say they did not stay together as they left in many different directions. As I remember a couple of these crafts were in view slightly longer than the rest upon departure. The couple that seemed to be visible these few seconds longer, went from one side of the sky to the extreme opposite side of the sky zig zagging at unbelievable speeds, then disappeared. I will always remember this sighting and to this day keep my eye on the sky for another chance to view such an occurrence. At this age, I was not aware of ufo's, however, at the time, this seemed to have scared me. It was a couple of years had gone by before I realized what I witnessed. I've often wondered to this day, if this had something to do with another intellegence spying on the Great Lakes Navel Base, or the construction of the Zion nuke plant. I don't know what year the nuke plant was built though. I've told of this sighting to almost everyone I know to this day, with mixed reactions. Gary D. in Kenosha.
