Date: December 2, 1970
Location: Marathon County

Source: Wausau-Merrill Record Herald, December 2, 1970

Details of Incident:

UFO Sighted

An unidentified flying object was reported in Marathon County early today and was apparently witnessed by four police officers.

Robert Volm, Marathon Route 2, called the Marathon County Sheriff's Department about 5:39 a.m. He said a large white object with three red lights was in the air southeast of Wausau.

Upon investigating, three deputies reported they, too, could see a bright light in the sky in the area. They said the light appeared stationary and had no red lights.

About the same time, the Schofield Police Department radioed that a bright light was stationary over County Highway J about 1,500 to 2,000 feet above the ground.
