I can't believe I'm doing this. But since I saw a message from a party citing the same year and same location as the experience I have long recalled, here goes. In the summer of 1972 (can't remember which month), a friend and I were standing on a pier located on Eagle Springs Lake. It was probably somewhere between 9:00 and 11:00 p.m. We both saw "something"--a very brightly lit object. It just "hung there" in one place for several minutes, then suddenly zoomed off at a speed much faster than anything I have ever seen--before and since--in an eastward direction. The picture and setting have stayed with me, now, for thirty years.
