Details of Incident:
Please understand that I did not see this. This happened to my father, who passed away since
the incident occured. So I will have to tell it as best I can. Keep in mind I've never known
my father to lie. He was known as an honest, simple man. He did not report the story to
anyone except the family. He had no reason to make this kind of thing up.
On a summer night, I cannot remember which month, my father was home alone at his house outside
of Marquette, Wisconsin on the Fox River near Lake Puckaway. There was a power outage since a
storm had just occured. His property extended from his house down to the Fox River.
He looked from his house down to the river and noticed a white light about two feet high,
moving back and forth at the water's edge. Thinking it was someone in a boat going forward and
backward in front of his property or someone walking back and forth on his riverbank, he
decided to check them out and make sure they were okay, and in his words, "See if someone or
some kids in a boat were messing around."
When he got near the light, it suddenly stopped moving back and forth and sat still. Then, it
slowly lifted into the air until it reached tree-top level and went back over his head. He
watched it as it silently and slowly flew away to the southwest.
It passed directly over the home of a neighbor as it departed. The next day, the neighbor
told my father he heard something pass over his house the night before.
Odd, because my father reported hearing no sound.
He never saw it again, and he has since passed away. My Dad was such a no-nonsense guy. He
had no interest in UFOs and paranormal-type things. I was shocked to hear him tell me his
story because I assumed all UFO stories came from attention-seeking wierdos. I don't know what
he saw that night, but I know he saw something very out of the ordinary. I assume it was some
sort of lost weather balloon with a light attached, or maybe a secret aircraft in testing by
the Air Force. Even a large bird with a bright, lit, battery-powered backyard light stuck to
his beak makes more sense to me than something extra-terrestrial. But who knows?
