On Friday night, August 1, 1997, Fred P. was "driving west on Highway 10 from Manitowoc, Wisconsin (population 32,547) to Brillion, Wisconsin (population 2,907) when I saw something quite unusual."

"It was almost like a mini-airshow using unusual aircraft," he reported. "There were three of them. It was quite dark, and all I could see was their light pattern, illustrated below."

"Each individual craft had the above light pattern, where the X is a flashing white light, and the * are solid yellow lights...the three of them were moving quite slowly, but they did some interesting precision maneuvers."
