Date: September 15, 1998
Location: Dundee
County: Fond Du Lac
Source: Bill Benson, owner of Benson's Hide-a-Way
- a Wisconsin UFO bar located in Dundee Wisconsin. Truly an interesting place.

Details of Incident:
The previous Tuesday at around 7:00 or 7:30 pm, a strange red light - obviously not the normal red airplane light - was seen moving in the skies over the south shore of Long Lake.
Very shortly after the light appeared, four jets began pursuing it. Bill said that they were Air Force jets, and they were there almost as soon as the object was spotted. "Whatever it was," Bill noted, "our government was very interested in it."
I'm not sure where the nearest airstrip is located that could launch Air Force fighter jets, but they didn't waste any time getting there. It seems most likely to me that they were already following it before it appeared over Long Lake.
When the jets approached the object, it would quickly move away from them. At times it would shrink to nothing, then it would appear elsewhere over the lake in the same manner, growing from a pinpoint to full size. During the time it was observed, its size would frequently change using the same type of expanding and shrinking motion.
The last time it was seen that night, it appeared and hovered over a nearby house. The object was again approached by the jets, and at that time it suddenly shot straight up into the air. The jets followed, and both the object and the jets left the area.
