Details of Incident:
I have never seen anything like this before. I was driving southbound on a street in my
subdivision in Menomonee Falls at 11:45pm on Wednesday night, 3/26/03. I was suddenly startled
by a bright green light in the peripheral vision of my right eye. I turned my head to the right
(looking to the west) and saw a big brilliant green fireball that had a trail of green behind
it. It was falling very quickly from the sky from the north toward the south, in the same
direction I was driving. It was low enough for me to see through the passenger-side window of
my car, and for a moment I had the impression it might hit me. It was falling very fast, and
the first thing I thought of was that it was a small plane crashing, but I was puzzled that it
was bright green. It appeared like it literally crashed into someone's yard in my subdivision
or maybe in the next subdivision to the west. It seemed that close. I saw it plummet quickly
toward the ground, and I would have sworn that it impacted the ground somewhere in my
subdivision. I braced myself for the impact, expecting to hear a loud boom and see an explosion
with a burst of flames, but there was no sound, and I didn't see any flames. I was tempted to
turn to the west and try to locate it, but I was stopped by the thought of the possibility that
it could be a chemical attack or something. I was glad to see the other reports from people in
Milwaukee who saw the exact same thing I saw, and at the exact same time. What is puzzling to
me is that the people in Milwaukee reported that the object appeared to be SOUTH or SOUTHEAST
of them and that the object did not seem that close to them. I felt it was really close to me,
and my location in Menomonee Falls is NORTH of Milwaukee. Were there possibly more than one of
these objects? Or maybe the object appeared much closer to me than what it really was? Does
anyone have a clue what this could have been?
