Details of Incident:
Anomalous shooting green ball of light. Monday, December 1st, 2003 6:15 PM
I had a sighting involving a shooting, green ball of light immediately accompanied by two anomalous lighted objects tonight while
driving home from work. The incident happened in Milwaukee, WI, at 6:15 PM, while I was driving west on Hampton Avenue while passing
the airport. I was startled to see what looked like an electric emerald green ball of light, possibly surrounded by a green halo
suddenly come shooting across the sky directly in front of me at a downward angle, moving to my right. Its line of motion had
started out of my field of view above me, where it ended directly in front, almost in my center view of the twilight Horizon. The
object lasted for about a half a second and was very bright and vivid. It didn't look like anything I've ever seen in the sky
before, and really startled me. I couldn't tell the distance, but it was some ways off, possibly between the airport on Hampton
Avenue and Highway 41. The object was not caused by moving reflections on my windshield. It was so bright, it left a brief trail on
my vision.
Immediately after the object disappeared, two cluster-like lighted objects appeared in the sky, just to the right of where it had
faded out, and slowly hovered and moved toward where the object had disappeared. I had the definite impression that they had
appeared in reaction to it. One could have been a normal aircraft or helicopter. All I could see was a small group of red lights,
some of which may possibly have been blinking intermittently. The other object was very strange looking. It's just looked like a
very large ball-like structure of red and possibly whitish lights, almost like a twinkling ball of Christmas lights that were
flashing extremely rapidly together, randomly. I have never seen any type of aircraft light configuration like that before, and it
is very hard for me to attribute it to any type of known aircraft. My windshield was a bit on the dirty side, and while still
trying to concentrate on my driving through traffic, the passing street lamps were creating a lot of moving glare across my line of
view. This made it very difficult to see the two remaining objects as anything but two clusters of pinpoint lights in the dark sky.
I could see the lights clearly, but I could not make out any structure behind them.
There was no perceivable sound during the event. It was very cold out, I had the heater on, my windows rolled up, and the radio was
playing, and the objects were quite some distance ahead of me. The whole incident lasted maybe five minutes. When I got to the
intersection of Highway 100 (Mayfair Road) and had to turn right, I could no longer see the two objects. I'm not sure if they had
disappeared, or if they were just out of my line of view behind the trees. There is no way I could attribute the initial emerald
green ball of light to any type of aircraft, unless somebody was shooting a missile over Milwaukee! It was going much too fast for
even a military jet. It could have possibly been a meteor, but what were those two strange objects with flashing lights that
appeared right next to where it vanished?
I am typing this right after arriving home so that the incident would be fresh in my memory.
