County: Green

Details of Incident:
My girlfriend and I were traveling From Oregon, WI to New Glarus, WI on Hwy. D around 6:00pm 12/05/2003. After we were on our way
we noticed a really bright star in front of us (the west). I have thought that I have seen strange flying objects before but as you
get closer you'll notice a strobe blinking or some other sign that it is just a plane. First thing that we noticed about the
object was that it didn't seem to be moving at all, it seemed to be hovering over the town of Belleville, WI. As we got closer to
Belleville we noticed to object was moving west/southwest in the direction of New Glarus. As we had to slow down for town I was
afraid that we would lose the object, but when we came out of town on the west side we could see that it seemed to be moving really
slow.... slower than any plane I ever saw. So we decided to try and get a closer look and hurried toward New Glarus. The object
seemed to be also hovering above New Glarus so we continued west on Hwy. 39 but as we got closer it increased speed and continued
SW until we couldn't see it anymore..... The whole time we observed this, it could only have been 1000ft-2000ft in sky and the best
way to explain it would be Like the brightest star I have ever seen kinda yellow orange.
