Twas the Night Before the Twenty-Ninth, 1998

Thanks To Barbara Ellis

Editor's Note: Here's a new cure for boredom; just step outside to find UFOs performing a light display. One of the most interesting things about the story is that she was the sole witness only because the neighbor who she wanted to share this spectacular experience with was apparently inside watching Monday Night Football and didn't want to be bothered. Kind of makes you wonder how many light shows like this go completely unnoticed because everyone underneath them is inside watching TV, doesn't it?

Have you ever had the feeling that boredom was not a state of mind, but a fiend-like entity about ready to consume you? After a dull day and two hours of the same question, did Clinton lie, or did he not, even the light hearted Cosby Show was no balm to cure my desire to escape. Air, that is what I needed, fresh dry desert air. I exited the house.

The view of the city from my porch is breathtakingly beautiful and the warm of the evening enveloped me in a cocoon of tranquility.

To the right of my home is an empty lot. Oncoming traffic on the next street is seen as a streak of light across the brush. I looked to see a car, but there was nothing. Looking to my left on my own street, there was nothing there either. Curiously, my eyes drifted upward. “What is that in the sky?” I wondered. It was huge! Judging the distance from my home to the Marine Base, it was at least three miles away.

This object, or these objects, were symmetrically spaced. The skeleton of the shape was semi-circular. On either end were two lights, large yellow orbs with what appeared to be a small exhaust stream coming from their backside. Two lights of the same size appeared to have come from the center of the semicircle and were out front of the end lights, and to add to the mystery, this monstrosity in the sky was stationary.

I ran into the house and picked up the pad of paper next to the phone along with a pencil and hurriedly drew what I saw. Then it was back to the porch. It was still there so I decided to have my neighbors next door take a look.

At 8:05pm Monday, Sept. 28th, I rang my neighbor’s door bell. I could hear the TV blaring Monday night football. There was no answer. I rang again, all the while keeping an eye on the sky. After my second try at the bell, I backed off their porch and back onto my own. Now there was movement. The two lights up front very slowly went in the formation of what was now six lights in this large semicircle; all lights evenly spaced. With this pattern now complete, the lights dissipated.

I stood there in awe of what? What the heck was it? And my neighbors, why hadn’t they answered the door?

Unidentified, flying (it got there some way), object. Had I seen the UFO I’d been waiting to see for 50 years? I was ten when the world was briefly excited about the saucer that crashed at Roswell, N.M. My father was so interested. Imagine, imagine, life elsewhere!! Two days later, all the excitement was over a weather balloon. But my interest had been peaked as a ten year old, and I’ve been watching the skies. Two previous experiences touched my life, but I never eyeballed anything. But I have now, now I have.

I’ve asked a psychic friend what she thought happened when this object dissipated. She said, “They turned off the lights.”

Remember the 60’s with the Byrds doing Mr. Spaceman? Now, I sing along with them, “Please take me along for a ride.” Beam me up Scotty, beam me up!

Quinn's Story: Profile of An "Abductee"

Thanks To Susan Darroch

Website: http://www.pararesearchers.org

Editor's Note: The following story speaks for itself.

In a world where the majority of us treat the topic of "alien" abduction with at best indifference and at worst scorn and derision there are those whom must live with experiences that seemingly defy rational thought and explanation. They must learn to cope not only with their experiences, but also with prevailing popular attitudes in regards to phenomena they know exists.* Contrary to what some may believe these people are not suffering mental illness, displaying fantasy prone behaviour, nor willfully hoaxing their experiences as a means to gain notoriety nor financial gain.

The following story is a poignant look at one person's experiences with this type of phenomena and will serve as a reminder that there is a human face behind the often-unthinking way in which this topic is portrayed in popular media and by the minds of those who have not taken the time to adequately research this subject. Please note that in order to protect the privacy of Quinn and his/her family real names have not been used. The words he/she are used in the context of keeping the narrative flowing and are not intended to imply the actual sex of any of the individuals mentioned within the body of this article.

Quinn is happily married, a parent of two adult children and proud grandparent. Family and family values are an important part of Quinn's life, which was made quite evident by my interviews with her and her family. An intelligent and thoughtful person, Quinn is university educated despite a learning disability, and worked for many years in a respected white-collar profession, before health issues forced an early retirement. However, what struck me most about Quinn is the quiet and determined courage she displays in coping with experiences that most of us cannot even imagine. When asked about her feelings in regards to this phenomenon her reply was, "It's been a curse, although it has probably shaped my personality to where it stands. It is difficult to imagine what it would be like without 'their' influence or involvement in my life. What doesn't kill you can only make you stronger."

Quinn was born in Ontario Canada. Her first conscious memory of a 'psychic' experience was at the age of three and her first remembered UFO sighting occurred at approximately the age of seven or eight. Quinn's childhood was plagued by numerous trips to hospital for spontaneous and particularly intense nosebleeds, which were never adequately explained despite medical treatment and intervention. Quinn retains these frightening episodes quite clearly, although she admits to being troubled by the fact that large pieces of her childhood memories are now missing.

The nosebleeds are only the beginning of a long and often heartbreaking medical history that Quinn has had to endure. The causation of these issues are readily explainable in many instances and not unusual when looked upon separately, however it is of interest to note that they are shared by many who claim to be involved with the abduction experience. And while Quinn is very hesitant to lay blame on a preternatural source for her physical condition she does acknowledge that certain physical anomalies do exist within her own medical profile that she is hard pressed to explain by any means other than the abduction phenomenon. These include scars (one in the shape of a perfect triangle), scratches, puncture wounds and bruising that she has no memory of attaining. Quinn has sought medical attention for these and in the case of the bruising, blood disorders were ruled out since 1979.

A mole located under Quinn's jaw was noted as missing at age 35. A visit to the family physician resulted in the diagnosis that it had been removed surgically leaving a neat and precise scar that is still visible. Quinn states that she has no memory of it's removal, and this has puzzled both herself and close family members.

A more detailed medical accounting of the above is retained within our records.

The above including recent puncture scoop-like wounds that heal at a rapid rate coincide with sightings of UFOs, some experienced along with family members and friends. This is one reason that Quinn connects them to the alien abduction experience. They also follow bouts of 'missing time' that are not readily noticed, in Quinn's words "it usually takes something to jar my memory into recalling that the time was actually missing." And finally some of these markings are discovered after unrestful sleeps in which she experiences "weird dreams or memories that are dream-like and not entirely recallable." It should go without saying that the discovery of these marks (in some cases severe bruising) have and do cause Quinn distress and why she has consistently sought medical advice.

As stated above Quinn's first UFO encounter occurred as a young child and she has had several since. The most dramatic sighting being an encounter in which she and her spouse were "followed" by a UFO in 1971 while driving on Bloomington Side Road in York County. They describe the UFO as a "ball of light encased within a cloud" and that at one point it was no more than 25ft above the family car. When asked if they ever reported this event to local police etc, the reply was "we were afraid of ridicule, I thought I would not be taken seriously." This in fact is not an unusual or uncommon response. Unfortunately Quinn can no longer remember the exact date, so searching for third-party corroboration of this event is impossible.

Quinn is quite candid in admitting that she has no conscious memory of seeing 'occupants' in regards to her UFO sightings or full recall of an abduction having taken place. She does admit that images of both UFOs and aliens (specifically greys) make her feel apprehensive.

One UFO event was followed by the sighting of an anomalous in appearance (4ft) owl in the middle of the road while driving through the Rocky Mountains in 1995. All in the car, including Quinn's spouse and son, noted it and she speculates it's actual identity here by saying, Personally I don't think it was an owl, but that is what my mind remembers. That's what my son and (spouse) remember too."

Quinn's UFO sightings have been followed by dreams of "being chased and flying and trying to hide from my captors and a specific reoccurring dream of a female scary face with big black eyes right up in my face leaning over me." Dreams and fragmented memories coupled with the very real anomalous physical markings are in fact the only evidence Quinn has to tie in the conscious UFO sightings to the abduction-like phenomena she has experienced, yet taken as a whole the data is certainly compelling.

Quinn is a member of the Intruders Foundation a group headed by famed Alien Abduction researcher Budd Hopkins. She is also a former patient of Dr. D. Gottlieb, a Toronto-area psychiatrist whom at one time worked extensively with those experiencing this type of phenomena.

Despite her search for answers to these experiences Quinn has never sought and in fact has refused hypnotic regression as a means to gaining clarity on these events. As regression therapy can in fact pose risks depending upon the individual and data, which the validity of is highly debatable, Quinn feels it is simply not an option she feels comfortable with.

Quinn has learned to live with her extraordinary experiences, while at the same time balancing a normal and ordinary life that is really no different than the majority of ours. She does not feel "special or chosen" just "different" and perhaps just a casualty of circumstance? Her sincerity and frankness are refreshing, her emotional and physical pain obvious, yet her courageous attitude towards a subject so riddled with misconception by the main stream is what stands out the most in personal interviews.

In closing I will leave the reader with Quinn's response to my question of what she feels would benefit abductees in regards to future alien abduction research, "Anything that will make people comfortable to come forward and share, although I think that will be a long time in coming. Some sort of system where exposure does not mean ridicule, although still lend itself to credibility."

Our personal thanks to both "Quinn" and her family for sharing their experiences with us and allowing our use of some of these experiences for the purpose of sharing them online.

UFOs Are Actually Heavenly Vehicles

Thanks To Roger

Editor's Note: I agree that there are a lot of Biblical examples of UFOs if you just read it with an open mind.

I believe "UFOs" are actually heavenly vehicles. They are from old and the wheel in the sky that is mentioned in the Bible was a "UFO" with God and angels on board, and the whirlwind that took Elijah up was a spacecraft, etc...

The UFO Codebook Hypothesis

Thanks To Steve Clementson

Website: http://www.geocities.com/heavenlykey2002/index.htm

Editor's Note: Sometimes UFO sightings can seem to occur in random places and at random times. They sure seem that way to me, but Steve has noticed a set of guidelines that UFOs seem to follow.

This hypothesis is based on my observations regarding the UFO phenomenon, and upon a host of other bizarre oddities. Upon closer inspection, it became clear these peculiarities invariably followed a strict set of guidelines. They were never random, and only appeared to occur under the right conditions. Furthermore, the wide variety of abnormal occurrences observed were all following the very same set of guidelines, as if orchestrated.

For example, UFOs seem appear at places, whose names are remarkably suitable for the occurrence. The same thing appears to be true for ghostly manifestations and crop circles. This was the basis for my observations regarding symbology, and I found that it even extends to people's names, as well as to ancient structures and features. But the most curious feature of all had to do with the guidelines being used. In short, I found that these peculiarities adhered, very strictly, to various passages in the bible.

This is curious, as it implies that the bible relates to something other than a religious faith. Through my research, it would appear that religion, as we know it, was generated and propagated by extraterrestrials themselves. Through a dispassionate reading of the bible, verified against copycat anomaly reports, it would appear that the bible would be best described as 'The UFO Codebook'.

The authorities seem somewhat reluctant to admit to what is occurring, which makes me suspicious of their motives. As a matter of fact, they seem to be only too eager to discredit research. Could it be that the authorities have information that they'd rather not disclose to the general public? And, could it be that what I have unearthed is a match to what they already know, and are currently trying to keep a lid on?

From what I have discovered, it would also appear that many people, including myself, have dragged into a myriad different set-up jobs. On all occasions thus far observed, each and every 'victim' has acted as a stooge. Their experiences have been set-up in strict accordance with biblical texts and, therefore, become walking clues. In their drive for secrecy, could it be that these unnamed bodies have struck deals with extraterrestrials?

Could it be that what I have found also amounts to a booby trap? Not realizing that those self-same aliens have been leaving a rich trail of clues, could these nameless government officials have agreed to permit extraterrestrial experimentation on selected human subjects? If they have, then the evidence I have unearthed becomes even more important.

UFO Cults with the Potential to Kill

Thanks To Colleen Johnston

Editor's note: An interesting take on the dangers of blind faith. I personally think that we all have the ability to sort out the truth as part of our nature, and I'd encourage everyone to discover that part of themselves and use it. Research and common sense help too so we don't repeat the mistakes of the past. Speaking of research and common sense, Colleen's article makes some really good points along those very lines.

We've all heard about Jim Jones of the ill-fated Jonestown in Jonestown, Guyana and in recent years, named groups such as a few deaths surrounding the group Scientology, David Koresh of the Branch Davidians, and the UFO Cult, Heaven's Gate led by Marshall Applewhite.

Recently another fatal religious cult in Rushojwa, Uganda led by Dominic Kataribabo, a defrocked Roman Catholic priest who some locals believe ordered the death of nearly a thousand of the 'Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God' believers. According to survivors of the movement, sect members demanded the return of possessions they had surrendered to the cult after the world failed to end on Dec. 31, when UFO filled with Demons didn't attack as the leaders had predicted - supposedly was the reality that triggered the killings. Do you know that a few of these above-mentioned groups have an underlying UFO ideology behind their philosophy?

Followers of the Stella Maris Church, headed by Rogelio Perea, which describes itself as a Gnostic based organization that believes in alien life. In December of 1999, 100 members headed out to the Sierra Nevada mountains in two groups disappeared in northern Colombia after they went to rendezvous with a UFO they believed would save them from "the end of the world."

Prior to mass suicide/murder of the aforementioned cult group members, little warning was given nationally to the nature of such groups and if anything, their inner workings or belief structure. No one had heard about these groups because at best they were reported on local levels. Reports locally might have come in the form of a police report usually called in from a concerned cult member's family or a disturbance/nuisance report by a neighboring citizen. Is history going to be repeating it's self once more? I am a firm believer in the constitution, which allows for all religious freedom, we should have a right to worship God in a way we understand him. Yet, we have to look closely and monitor dangerous groups. What defines the normal perimeters of how a majority of society worships God verses cultic behaviors? There are factors, which separate the two, even though some groups come close to crossing into each other.

The word cult comes from the Latin cultis, which means in the secular term, worship. Cults (both UFO or otherwise) will tend to place both conventional as well as non-conventional beliefs into one basket. To someone who is confused about their belief system, some cultic doctrines will make sense to them because of the conventional overtones. Not all cult groups result in death, but from those that do, there are significant factors involved, which could potentially lead members to commit mass suicide.

There is one such group with a membership that's between 600 and 800 called the United Nuwaubian Nation of Moors that resides near Eatonton, Georgia, which bears watching. The movement also goes by other names, including ''Right Knowledge'' and ''Ancient Mystic Order of Melchizedek.'' but bills itself as a "fraternal organization." The Nuwaubians blend ancient Egyptian, Christian, Islamic, as well as Judaism, UFO mindsets into an apocalyptic end times belief system which will most likely produce fatal results. According to the groups doctrine headed by Nuwaubian leader "Malachi Z" who's name is actually Dwight York, that served time in New York in the 1960s for assault, resisting arrest and possession of a dangerous weapon.

The Nuwaubians, primarily consisting of African Americans, first came to Eatonton, GA in Putnam County in 1993 from Brooklyn, N.Y., where the group was known as the Ansaru Allah community, a segregationist religious sect which incorporated Muslim traditions. Nuwaubian leader Malachi York was then known as Isa Muhammad. Nuwaubians initially dressed in cowboy-type garb and claimed York was an extra-terrestrial from the planet "Rizq."

York, 55 has claimed to be from a galaxy called Illyuwn and has said that in 2003 spaceships are going to descend from the sky and pick up a chosen 144,000 people for a rebirth. Most recently, York has referred to himself as Chief Black Eagle, a reincarnated leader of the Yamassee Indians. They believe, according to reports that the spaceships will come to complete this rescue.

What makes this group so dangerous is it charismatic group leader York and the basic UFO ideology behind their belief system. His doctrine indicates an "end" will come but not giving an actual date when the spaceships will come. All groups who have committed suicide had such a doctrine firmly laced within its overall philosophy. One of the members, who is now group spiritual advisor Marshall Chance, a former Baptist minister, was quoted as saying, "We're all awaiting the coming of the real Messiah. We are a biblical people. If it's not in the Bible, then we're not concerned about It." which contradicts the unusual belief of its founder and some of the members with the UFO ideology. The group has all the earmarks set in place to become the next Jonestown. Although they claim to allow its members to come and go as they please, the group encourages communal living on the 19 acre tract where the fraternity gathering hall in the Nuwaubian village of Tama-Re the "new Egypt", is located. It is said that the famous actor Snipes is also involved at some levels with the group.

We live in a time of paradox, many theologians agree we are slipping deeper into in the midst of planetary/social/religious upheaval with worldwide political destabilization. Signs that seem to indicate we are entering a time of apocalyptic prophecy are evident. Many false revelators are currently cashing in who proclaim to have the answers behind these exceptional events. In the midst of those, there are many dangerous apocalyptic groups who will ultimately destroy themselves. The list includes those who lead charismatic UFO groups, self styled Christian or new age Christ/alien channeling cult groups.

With increasing numbers of regular people experiencing paranormal phenomena, alien abduction or other UFO related anomalies on an up close and personal basis, it's becoming easier for cult groups to intercede. Someone gets involved because they are at a loss for what's happening and are looking for clarification; often coming up empty handed after searching traditional routes. Sequentially, experiencers turn to UFO/Christian/new age blended groups trying to make sense out of their personal experiences. These pseudo alien indoctrinated/Christian congregations are extremely dangerous, because they will provide feasible explanations often combined with traditional Christian convictions. This makes it feasible such ideologies can if fact hold a semblance of reality. The groups are ingenious masters in their presentation and once a person genuinely relates in some way to the cult infrastructure, it is almost guaranteed they will get indoctrinated.

Don't snicker, if conditions are favorable and you experienced an unexplainable event repeatedly you could end up being targeted. There are key elements that cult groups look for in a person's overall persona that can play a major roll in cult recruitment. They often look for people who are searching for answers to help them understand a traumatic or anomalous event in which they have no explanation. A divorce, family crisis, UFO sightings or possible alien abduction experiences including other extraordinary events leave a person bewildered and in a defenseless state of mind. Other circumstances include single parents who are having difficulty raising their children. People that have little or no family contact who have a low self-esteem, or place others before their own needs. Those who have difficulty in saying no to anything even when they want to.

Cult leaders look for positive attributes as well. Anyone who is open minded, inquisitive, creative or who are unsure and searching in his or her belief about God. People who donate time energy or money to humanitarian projects or people who are very enthusiastic in their belief in God, Jesus Christ, or alien life forms. Cult leaders are on the lookout for anyone who fits the above criteria, regardless of gender, race, education, religious affiliation or social standing. It happens to thousands of people a year that seriously believe they were too intelligent to get involved, Think it can't happen? Think again! There are hundreds of these types of groups around, some boasting membership that excels into the tens of thousands.

Jim Jones of the People Temple, (who by the way had an extreme interest in the UFO ideology) leader of the 1978 Jonestown sect had this written over his altar. "Never forget the past, if you forget the past you're doomed to repeat it." Are the Nuwaubians, Raelians, Scientologist or other UFO millennium-spurred groups next to repeating this type history? If left unchecked, they will become another part of history within the ranks of cult members who have given their lives so senselessly all in the name of some of these Universal gods, alien deities.

Hovering Triangle Under A Full Moon

Thanks To James

Website: http://members.tripod.com/ancientknightsc/

Editor's Note: It was just after midnight under a full moon when James saw his first UFO. It not only made him a believer, but he now investigates UFOs himself.

After finishing my afternoon shift (4pm-12midnight) I was traveling the same roads I always use going to and from work. Nothing unusual happened until I topped a hill 2 miles from my house. That's when I noticed a dark triangle just above the tree line almost directly in my path. With the full moon and the lights from our town the object was easily seen. My first thoughts were that someone was out flying one of those motorized hand gliders but then I realized that this object was not moving, it remained stationary. As I neared where I thought the object was at, I checked behind me for any cars. There were none, and I slowed to a complete stop. I rolled my window down and turned to see the this object.

My first reaction when I saw this thing was oh s#*t. Hovering over a pond 20 feet from the road at an altitude of around 75 feet a triangular craft was silently motionless. I almost froze at seeing this craft at such a close range. At arms length the craft was the size of a football. The size of this UFO was around 80x80x80. The UFO had no lights, no identifying emblems, no sound. On what I think was the rear of this UFO there were 4 tanks, estimated size of each was 3 feet. Over each tank there was an umbrella shaped dome. Tube like lines went from the bottom of each tank to different areas of the UFO. The underbelly of the UFO was bubble-like and had a lighter color than the rest of the craft. The color of the UFO was shiny and polished, and seemed to reflect the surrounding area. The height of the UFO was around 6 feet.

I watched this craft for 3-4 minutes before I left and went home and told my wife what I had just saw. We got our camera and camcorder and when back to the pond where the UFO was hovering. When we arrived where the UFO had been, it was gone. I called the National UFO Reporting Center to report my UFO sighting. They returned my call and took all the information. Now I do believe in the existence of UFOs and have been investigating sightings ever since.
