Happy Birthday UFOWisconsin

Editor's Note: UFOWisconsin has finished its first year online, so I thought it might be nice to take a look back at some of the key events of the past year. It's sure been a busy one, but a lot of fun too.

I initially heard about the dream that became UFOWisconsin when I first met John Hoppe at a get together at Benson's Hideaway on Saturday, May 19, 2001. He explained his idea of making a web site that specifically tracked UFO sightings in Wisconsin to try to find some kind of pattern. I agreed that would be a great idea, but it would also be a huge undertaking to do it right. At the time I don't think either of us had any idea what UFOWisconsin would become.

Racine Journal Times reporter Rob Golub was also at this event. When his story appeared on the front page of the paper, it featured a large photo of this same John Hoppe I had just met. Rob's article also told the story of a couple who had met over the internet due to a mutual interest in the X-Files and were soon to be married. Can you guess who this couple was? Looking back, I almost wonder if Rob had some kind of supernatural reporter's type insight into what they might create. Hmm, I wonder...

In the next few months, John and Jenny did indeed marry. Shortly thereafter they decided to make UFOWisconsin a reality and planned a launch date of September 1, 2001. I remember meeting with them regularly during that time at Benson's Hideaway in Dundee to discuss the logistics behind the site and know that Webmaster Jenny worked very hard incorporating all the Wisconsin UFO reports that I had gathered up to that point on the W-Files web site. She actually had the site ready to go early, and it was difficult talking her into waiting for September 1st to launch it, especially since her enthusiasm about the project was shared by all of us.

The first news coverage about the website actually appeared the day before the official launch date in the Madison Capitol Times on August 31, 2001. It was great to see that a major newspaper seemed to share our hope for the success of the site. The next day, September 1, 2001, UFOWisconsin officially went online exactly on schedule with 175 UFO reports.

It was surprising to see the news coverage continue more aggressively than anyone could have imagined. On September 4, 2001 the Sheboygan Press ran a story announcing the site, which was followed by a September 9, 2001 article in Milwaukee Journal Sentinel which went out over the AP wire. In the next few days this AP wire story was picked up by many newspapers nationwide from the east coast to the west coast. The TV news also picked up on the site's launch and on September 9, 2001 Fox 6 News in Milwaukee ran a segment on the site which was immediately followed by a story on Milwaukee's WISN 12 News on September 10.

John Hoppe was soon busy giving public presentations about UFOWisconsin, starting with an invitation to speak at the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point on November 5, 2001. On July 12, 2002 he was invited to chat about the site on the Jerry Pippin Radio Show, and he also gave an excellent talk about what the site is all about and where it is going in the future at UFO Daze in Dundee, Wisconsin on July 20, 2001.

The site continued to grow by adding not only a huge amount of new sighting reports, but also many new features. On November 17, 2001 the Celestial Events section appeared to help educate people on some of the natural things (such as meteor showers) they might see in the sky. On March 26, 2002 the UFOWisconsin Store was added, allowing people to get logo shirts, caps, frisbees and much more. Since many people seemed very interested in giving their own theories and opinions about the UFO phenomenon, UFOWisconsin added the Pancake Perspectives newsletter on April 18, 2002.

The news coverage also continued. On the morning of March 6, 2002, Jenny Hoppe was surprised to hear UFOWisconsin being discussed during the morning show of one of her favorite radio shows, the Dave and Carol show on WKLH out of Milwaukee, who took calls from interested listeners for over half an hour. UFO Magazine featured UFOWisconsin in their February/March 2002 issue, stating that "This is one website I would recommend to anyone without hesitation." In addition, Wisconsin newspapers continued to feature the site, with a February 23, 2002 article in the Waukesha Freeman and a March 15, 2002 article in Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

By August 3, 2002 UFOWisconsin had already received its 500th UFO report! And it continues to grow. Once UFOWisconsin reached its first anniversary on September 1, 2002, the staff looked back at the success of the first year and decided to throw a thank you party this Saturday, September 7, 2002, for everyone who has supported the site with UFO Reports, press coverage and the many, many kind wishes for the continued success of the site. Editor's Note: Wow, a very close UFO sighting right in the middle of a major military installation. You'd think of all places they'd be protecting that airspace pretty closely from alien invaders, wouldn't you? That is, of course, unless it was one of ours.

9 June 1974 - Fort Devens, Massachusetts
Active duty military, U.S. Army

I was watching TV with my two roommates. The movie "Ice Station Zebra" was on a major network. It's a 2 hr movie. I left in the middle and went for a walk at about 2200hrs (10 pm). I walked from the barracks to the football field in front of the USATC&S Building. The Officer's Quarters were behind me, the flagpole was to my left, and I was facing the church at the other end of the field. It was a cool, clear night. I saw a big white light coming towards the church. As it got closer, I noticed that it wasn't just a light. It came closer still and I saw it was an oval shaped silver-metallic object with six individual lights on the bottom rotating. I heard a slight humming sound, similar to noise that bees make.

As it got closer, I noticed 3 occupants in the clear top section. They had on jump suits with a semi-circle red emblem on it. I was able to see equipment behind them. They hovered over the flagpole. I felt surprised, but didn’t move.

The next thing I knew I woke up to my alarm set for 0600, got dressed in my uniform and went to work. I think this happened on a Wednesday night.

I left for the weekend on Friday night and returned on Sunday. When I returned my two roommates told me that two Men-In-Black had come looking for me on Saturday. They had shown them official identification. They asked them:
"What did she see?"
"Who did she tell it to?"
"Does she have any proof?"
"Where can we find her?"

This gave me goose bumps all over when they told me. I had to go to the public library to find out what MIB was. I felt fear when I found out, but I never did see them.

This was the first experience I recalled. I can't remember too much of my childhood so I don't know if I had any prior to this.

Remember Lieska 33rd degree

Editor's Note: The following author tells us about an interesting childhood memory of a story told by her Grandfather. Not a normal story by any means, but it sounds like it might be an important one that might even indicate that her family's heritage is not of this world.

Looking back there are particular moments in my life that stand out, but they are not the usual ones most would remember. There are some memories prior to leaving Puget Island, Washington State, but none as clear as peculiar memories that now appear to be pivotal points in my life.

One of them is when I had just turning 2 years of age on July 30, 1949.

My parents had been so traumatized by two floods, an earthquake and a plane crash in their front yard that they moved away from Puget Island. Previously we had lived on the island where our family farm was located on the NorthEast Road. My Grandparents took over the farm after our leaving.

When we traveled to Astoria, Oregon my father was the Sawmill Foreman. With the job came the use of the "Whitehouse" as it was dubbed. While there my birthday came and went but one night at the end of July something awakened me. Outside there was a low humming-throbbing type sound. Since my bedroom was upstairs going down the stairs was needed, which for a two year old is a project in and of itself. So when starting down the stairs at first crawling backward was the easiest. But something told me "NO, YOU MUST STAND TALL for you must stand for the hope."

After that I carefully grasped the spindles which seemed so big for my small hands while slowly descended down the staircase. While turning to brave what to me were huge steps my eyes caught sight of the checked white and black tile on the landing floor. This landing was the entrance way and bordered between the living room and the front door. The light just outside the door seemed to call to me to come, open the door and walk out to the ramp.

When in the craft the first person I saw was an Officer with the old World War II uniform. It looked to be "Army Colonel." Next to him was a very kind being trying to make the Colonel happy but feeling the uneasiness was as clear as a slap in the face. Two other noncoms were at the control boards to the right. The silvery interior as well as the exterior seemed to me to be not that out of the norm for some reason.

Abductee seems to me to be a strange word when considering that in the UFO craft was a US Uniformed Armed Services Officer and two of his personnel along with one EBE.

For the most part the EBE was trying to keep the Officer happy. When he allowed the officer to listen he said what the officer wanted to hear and that was that I would have no memory of this. For that matter I would have no memory or most of my childhood and large parts of my life. Anything having to do with the particular subjects the officer didn't want me to know about, I would NOT remember. To me privately the EBE said you will not remember until, you MUST remember.

The next memory that comes to mind is sitting on my Grandfather's extremely boney knee. While perched precariously on the thin platform, he preceded to tell me about many things. But these are what stand out in my memory. Grandpa wanted Jimmy, my older brother, to listen to what he had to say. So he called Jim in to the kitchen. But Jim wouldn't get on his lap, so Jim stood in front of Grandpa listening for a while. Grandma said some things at the time that were perplexing to me. Only through time the reasons for her comments have been clarified for me. What Grandma said was "why do you bother calling Jimmy? He is not the one." Grandpa answered "but she's just a girl. Surely it would be more than just a girl could do." Grandma quickly retorted "Oh, you don't know-it is NOT up to you. Look at what has happened, the floods, earthquake, plane..."

Grandpa briskly stated "woman this is up to me."

Grandma said "It is clear, she is the one."

Grandpa continued to tell me about strange things that took place more than a thousand years ago. How the evil one landed in the 800s after the fight of the Heavens. Our family's job was to keep the books and pass down the knowledge of the "chosen one's duties." Our family record goes way back because we keep the Baptismal Dates for Norway, which are like the Birth Records here in the States. But part of what we were to know was that the "chosen one" would be from the new country.

Grandpa said "So my Mother brought me as a young boy to America. Because it was the end of the 1800s the family thought it was up to me to be the 'chosen one'. So they made sure it was possible for me to come to the America. Since it has not happened, it became clear that I am not the one. Knowing your Father he is NOT the one either. So it is up to you, you are the next generation. You must know about the INSTRUCTIONS."

Part way into this talk Jim had gone back into the living room to play with the toys. My Father was pacing the floor quite upset. My Mother was trying hard to calm him down. Grandfather proceeded with telling me as much as he could quickly do so, because the tension was growing exponentially by each tick of the clock.

When his boney knee was getting to me, I started to squirm around a little. Grandpa said harshly to me "If you don't remember anything else REMEMBER LIESKA, FINLAND east of Lieska 33 degree. Remember Lieska 33rd degree." He startled me when he started to shout, so I slipped down off his leg and was going back into the living room when my Father grabbed my hand and Jim's hand and blurted out while going out the door "How could you fill my child's mind with that trash? Don't expect to ever see your grandchildren again."

My Grandpa said we are Nordic. When questioning him I asked "you mean from Norway?" His answer was "No, I mean Nordic."

Commentary on Pancake Perspectives Issue 9

Hi Jim,

Re Issue #9, just wanted to say I enjoyed your article, "Were Jesus and His Disciples Extraterrestrial?" I've always been intrigued by the possible connections and hope you explore this subject again in a future issue.

On "Why Debunk UFOs?" by "The Sage", I support the author's slant toward skepticism. All those involved in the UFO and paranormal community should look at things with a critical eye. And I liked the exploration into how and why people will believe as they do as a back drop to this piece.

However, I found the author's skepticism to be "overboard" in that they insist nothing UFO or paranormal related could be possible.

The quote "Science must begin with myths, and with the criticism of myths." (Sir Karl Popper) should be noted it says criticism, not disbelief.

Where many in the community believe everything, the author has taken the position to believe nothing. And that's really no better a stand.

Investigation requires being able to look at both the possible and the impossible. True, it is a fact that nothing has been proven beyond a doubt. It is also a fact that there are many strange things that have not been explained.

The science field continues to discover new things. That means there are things in this world still undiscovered by science.

Outright belief or disbelief is a decision that looks no further and accomplishes nothing, but for exploring issues, a little criticism can work quite well.

The Mars/Earth Connection Part II

In the last article we touched on the blue star/earth connection. I told of the first ship landing in Egypt, and began "restoring" the knowledge and life styles they had known in the past. A ship was taken and placed in a great vault, and a marker built over it, so that when the other clans arrived they would know where they were. Over the course of their first landing here, the Blue Star Ships have since come to all part of our world, interbreeding with people from earth and giving to them the accounts of their religions, technology and history.

Aware of the Blue Star Legend, on July of 1937, the Nazi party's elite, such as Hitler and Goering, began sending out special teams of their elite forces. These teams were also to collect all kinds of supernatural, scientific and religious items. Hitler has totally convinced of this Elite Blue Star Group and was determined to find any ancestors thereof. Hitler did discover one of these blue star ships and took it back to Germany where they immediately set forth in trying to duplicate their discovery. Later, the United States found out about these efforts and seized the Nazi Space ship.

Boulay (1999) and Sitchin (2002) gave some interesting interpretations of clues found in ancient Sumarian clay tablets that work with my blue star story. Here are their interpretations.

Boulay suggests that extraterrestrials were in the solar system at least 240,000 years ago: "The ancient Sumerian kings traced their lineage back some 240,000 years when their ancestors came to this planet. Called the ANUNNA (Sumerian) or ANUNNAKI (later Akkadian or Semitic name)." "The King List records the names of the kings and the length of their reigns from the beginning of their history, a time in the distant past when 'kingship descended from heaven' and founded five cities in the Mesopotamian plain."

Zecharia Sitchin's latest book offers a number of intriguing clues to the Mars connection, based on his Sumerian findings, which I'll briefly list:

• Alalu, king of Nibiru, uses nuclear weapons to stir volcanic gases.
• Anu deposes him.
• He steals a spacecraft and escapes to KI (KI means ground or underworld, i.e. Earth)
• He finds gold in the water, beams the news to Nibiru, and reclaims Kingship.
• Enlil, Anu's son, suggests a trip to Earth
• Ea, another son of Anu and son-in-law of Alalu, is chosen instead.
• Ea, the pilot Anzu, and 50 others go to Earth.
• They establish Eridu, the 1st city, from which Earth got its name.
• The gold in the water is not plentiful
• Ea discovers gold mines in Abzu (Africa)
• An and come to Earth
• Ea is proclaimed EN-KI (lord of the ground or master of Earth) and goes to the Abzu
• Alalu attacks Anu and is exiled to Lahmu (Mars) where he dies.
• Alalu was king of Nibiru for 9 shars (a shar is 3,600 Earth years), king of Eridu for 8 shars, and died on Lahmu in the 9th shar .
• Anzu pilots Alalu to Mars and elects to stay with him there.
• Much later Anu sends Ninmah to Lahmu saying that "if he (Anzu) lives he shall be the commander of the Way Station on Lahmu"
• Ninmah, Anu's daughter, then comes to Lahmu, finds Anzu near death, and revives him.
• Anzu leads Ninmah's group to a "great rock, like a mountain from the plain heavenward rising."
• He had buried Alalu there in a cave in the rock
• The group then "carved his image" (Alalu's) on the rock.
• In the carving "They showed him wearing an Eagle's helmet, his face they made uncovered"

This would be according to the description the Great Sphinx:
Gold was delivered from Earth to the Way Station on Lahmu. Many others came to Mars:
"Hundreds of heros their abode on Lahmu shall make"
"You, Anzu, shall be their commander."
The first fully human to visit Lahmu was Enkine, a descendent of Adapa. (Which some think may be why the humanoid face on Mars)

This is a secret teaching:
When Sky had been separated from Earth, until then firmly locked together, And the Birthing Goddesses had appeared When Earth had been founded and set in place; That by which the Gods established the order of the universe,

35. Thus they cultivated the fields of the Anunna, Multiplying the riches of the land, They celebrated worthily the festivals of the Gods, And brought fresh water into the Great Residence, Worthy Seat of the High Dais! They named them Ullegarra and Annegarra
40. And they multiplied, from the prosperity of the land, cattle, sheep, animals, fish, and birds! Here is what they decided with their Holy Mouth, Enul and Ninul, And these are Aruru, Worthy Sovereign, to secure the complete order! Craftsmen after Craftsmen, Rustics after Rustics, Of the same source as the grain:
45. And not more than the Eternal Stars of Heaven, which never change! Thus they celebrate worthily the festivals of the Gods, day and night, According to the complete order which they had established An, Enlil, Enki and Utu, the Great Gods! And the same by whom humanity has been created,
50. Nisaba shall be installed as their sovereign!
