Weird Electronics/UFOs in Iowa

Thanks To Julie W.

Editor's Note: There are many reports of strange electrical problems happening in conjunction with UFO sightings. Lights go out, phones don't work and sometimes even whole cars will cease to function. UFOWisconsin just received a report of an event like this that occurred less than a week ago in a place called Aurelia Iowa. Here's that report:

Date of Sighting: January 2, 2003
Time: 8:10 p.m.
City of Sighting: Between Aurelia and Cherokee Iowa
amount of time observed: 10 to 15 min
Number of objects: 2
Object appeared from: north and south
Object heading to: wasn't moving
Noise: No

Details: I was driving home from work and I noticed a bright object in the sky to the northeast. I watched it for awhile and noticed that there were red, green and white lights on the object, and thought it was a plane. The longer I watched it I noticed that it was not moving. It was at that time that I noticed another object exactly like the other one to the southeast in front of me. Neither one was moving. Then I noticed an airplane above the object on my left, and that made it very evident that what I was watching was just sitting there. The other object was not moving either. I got within a half mile from the town in Iowa, Aurelia, where I live, and tried to call my husband to tell him. The phone was busy. When I got home I told him what I had seen and that I had tried to call, and he asked me when. I said just a couple of minutes ago. He hadn't been on the phone, and my computer was really having problems - my connection is through a satellite.

I know that this sounds crazy, but I had a similar experience several years ago in northwest Iowa only there were many more, and my children and I witnessed a UFO only a couple of hundred feet away, so this incident aroused my curiosity. Thank you.

Rainbow Anomaly

Thanks To Gene K.

Editor's Note: Many UFO researchers go out in search of photographic evidence, but sometimes people who aren't even looking end up discovering strange things in regular pictures. This is one of those cases, where one photo in a series of shots contains an object that seems out of place. I don't know what it is, and neither does the photographer, but if you have a solution to this mystery, please let us know.

City: Stoughton, MA
Date: May 29, 2002

Details: It was a day when we had a thunder storm and after the thunderstorm my wife took pictures of a rainbow with our digital camera. After downloading them I looked at them and noticed a spot on just one picture and not the rest. The one before it had nothing and the one after it had nothing. I was just wondering if you could look at it and let me know. Thank you very much.

Here are Gene's photos shown in the order they were taken:

Unidentified Flying Objects: Starcraft

Thanks To Denise M. Clark

Website: www.denisemclark.com

Editor's Note: The following is a book review. If Denise M. Clark is right about this book, it sure sounds like a good read.

Unidentified Flying Objects: Starcraft
By Der Voron
ISBN: 1591297389
Publisher: PublishAmerica (http://www.publishamerica.com)

Review by Denise M. Clark

The existence of extraterrestrials has long been a subject of heated debate between scientists, scholars and stargazers who've spent many an hour studying the night sky and the universe beckoning beyond. Scientific proof of whether distant life forms and existence are legitimate causes yet an addition bone of contention between UFOlogists and skeptics alike, and while it’s easy to make jokes about Area 51 or Roswell, there is certainly a basis for those jokes and rumors. Something had to have happened in these places and many others throughout the globe to engender such speculation and argument.

In his book, Unidentified Flying Objects: Starcraft, Der Voron has offered an extremely well researched and detailed report of incidents that have occurred all across the globe, from many different eras. Ancient writings may have been the first indication that ‘we are not alone’, and Der Voron cites several of these sources as an example. Such statements originate from many different countries and in different continents, from ancient times to contemporary, from Indian tales of events that took place in the wilds of Kipling country to experiences related by a German artillery gunner during World War Two. Reports of "unidentified contact with objects of undetermined origins" have been filed in government offices from the plains of South America to the fjords of Norway and the steppes of Asia.

Highly annotated and illustrated with fascinating examples of starship models and their possible makeup, armaments and defensive mechanisms (according to some data belonging to US government research on alien starcraft), this ambitious work offers a wealth of documented information on not only Starcraft, otherwise known as ‘Flying Saucers’, but the types of extraterrestrials that have flown them. All aliens are not created equal, as their many varied depictions and origins in historical writings attest. The author's use of a plethora of written documentation ably enhances his description of personal civilian and military accounts of those who have had some kind of interaction with these objects.

Also explored in great detail is the intelligence of our sea life, mainly as that intelligence relates to dolphins and the octopi of our deepest oceans, and how they, in turn, can be used in the search for extended knowledge of the universe surrounding our planet. How and why these creatures have gained such highly specialized communication skills and how it is that an octopus can experience an event and not only remember it, but learn from it, is explored, and commented upon as it relates to man’s search for a higher intelligence.

While replete with scientific data, terms and information, this work by Der Voron is nevertheless highly readable and extremely illuminating for the common reader with no prior knowledge of extraterrestrial existence, while at the same time it also provides hours of reading material and documentation to keep the more knowledgeable busy.

Der Voron's conscientious effort to dig deep for his sources shows in his detailed reports, and his data gathering and willingness to share that information is a challenging endeavor in which he has aptly succeeded. The existence of extraterrestrials is an immensely interesting topic, one that will be explored for years to come, and this work can provide as an invaluable asset to any stargazer's bookshelf.

UFO in Morris Run Florida

Thanks To Terry M.

Editor's Note: Here's another out of state report that UFOWisconsin recently received. This one is an older report from the late 70's, but since the witness still decided to file the report after so many years, it seems that the event made an impact.

Date of Sighting: June 18, 1979
Time: Afternoon
City of Sighting: Morris Run
Amount of time observed: 15 minutes
Number of objects: 1
Object appeared from: Overhead
Object heading to: North
Noise: No

Details: I left a friend of mine at the local fishing hole and while walking home, I noticed a large bright object hovering in the sky. I just stood there and watch the object for 15 minutes. The object seemed to move north. When I started walking home again and looked up, the object was gone.

Taken Reviews Take Two

Editor's Note: Last issue we posted a number of reviews concerning Steven Spielberg's "Taken" series that recently aired on the Sci-Fi channel. Seems the initial interest in the series has created further interest. Here are a couple more reviews we received after posting the last issue.

Thanks To Deni

I was not going to watch, nor tape TAKEN the mini series. I for all sensible reasons do not turn on my television set except to extradite information. I was moved to check it out because of incoming interest from UFO2U entries in my E-mail. I decided to tape the series and watch in a non-stop block of time, that being Christmas Day, so armed with my bag of Doritos and Drambouie, I did so.

My take on the series was that Spielberg consummate filmmaker that he is, has achieved a believable scenario of the hypothetical abduction phenomenon.

I have never been abducted, so I stand on neutral ground. I do believe an open mind is the preferred direction to take, and I believe that alien presence on our world should be perceived as both menacing and welcomed. We as a species have the ability to pick out the obvious as well as to smell out undefined dangers and opportunities. The reptilian brain meets the mammalian brain scenario, and YES it's us.

Thanks To Robert Helton

I missed ALL the Taken series but I will catch up. I'm not much into fiction but like video media non-the-less. I'm sure there's good parts with expert filming. Hollywood seems to "hollywood-it-up" so to speak and that is the disappointing part but I'm sure there is some quality moments in this series. Thanks for your input Brynnes. I agree.
